Hi.
There is no such thing as 100 percent natural mineral make-up colorants. To qualify as truly 100 percent natural, make-up would have to be made of plants like berries and spinach. Though I am likely to continue fooling around with formulating using such plants, they can stain skin and clothes. So we use iron oxides, ultramarines and titanium dioxide. These are natural minerals cleaned in a laboratory to render them safe for cosmetic use. This is a good thing, girls, since when mined, in their purely natural state, they contain toxic heavy metals the likes of mercury and lead. You know the whitish make-up of women (and men) in the 18th century? Lead. Most of that make-up came from an Italian woman who made a fortune making and selling make-up that bumped off a lot of people. What we use now is safe.
Have a look at the list of ingredients I use. In addition to the minerals, our foundation powder contains small amounts of corn starch, tapioca starch, arrowroot and plain (not as shiny) mica. Da-da-da-dat's all, folks! The cream ingredients are printed on the jar; do read them. The cream is anti-oxidant, nourishing, protective and great for even sensitive skin.
We should refuse to put on our faces, for the sake of looks, anything that compromises our health.
